The Hidden Reason You’re Not In Your Desired Reality (Even Though You’re Working Hard)

You’ve been doing everything “right”—but your reality still hasn’t shifted. Here’s why.

Do you feel like you’re stuck on a hamster wheel?

Grinding and hustling…

Working day and night…

Showing up day after day…

Doing everything you’re supposed to do to make your dreams a reality — yet life hasn’t changed?

Here’s a hard pill to swallow:

If you aren’t in your desired reality yet, it’s not because you lack discipline.

It’s not because you lack the willpower either.

And it’s definitely not because you haven’t been working hard.

You’ve been putting in the effort and doing the work.

There’s one reason you aren’t in your desired reality yet.

And not only has this been hidden from you, but it’s why you’ve been struggling.

When you know this hidden reason, not only will everything fall into place, but it’ll fall into place in the most effortless ways.

Ready to find out what it is?

Let’s dive in.

You’ve Been Focusing On The Wrong Thing

Since childhood, you’ve been conditioned to believe that hard work is how you get what you want.

“No pain, no gain.”

“Just put in the hours.”

“Struggle is a good sign.”

“Fight for what you want.”

“Push through the discomfort.”

“Work hard, and you’ll get whatever you want.”

These beliefs are what got you into productivity and self-improvement.

It’s why you

  • Journal

  • Try new routines

  • Optimise your habits

  • Wake up early to meditate

  • Try another diet and eating plan

  • Obsess over the latest productivity hack

It’s why you’ve even changed your toothpaste.

But despite all the changes and effort, your reality still looks the same.

You just have more stuff going on, but you’re still not in your desired reality.

Why?

It’s because you’ve been focused on the wrong thing.

You’ve been trying to change your reality by using only 33% of your potential.

The 33% You’re Trapped In

The 33% you’ve been focusing on is the physical plane.

In reality, we exist across 3 planes of existence:

  • The physical

  • The mental

  • The spiritual

The physical plane is the realm we typically call reality.

It’s what you experience with our bodies and through our senses. It’s everything you can see, touch, do, and measure.

It’s the realm of action and material objects. What you do and don’t do. What you have and what you don’t have. It’s the most visible and tangible plane of existence.

It’s the lowest plane of existence because energy, which functions as waves, has to make itself dense to become particles and ultimately matter.

It’s also why we take action.

In physical bodies, if we want to change anything in our reality, we take action to influence matter.

Hungry? You take action to get food and eat.

Tired? You take action to sleep or get energy from something like coffee.

Want more money? You take action and do more work and work longer hours.

The physical plane teaches you that action leads to results.

So, if you aren’t seeing the results you want? You assume you need to do more.

More work. More hustle. More grinding. More doing. More action.

But there’s a problem with this:

The physical plane is the realm of effect.

Action is important in the physical plane, but action isn’t what CREATES the reality you want.

Action itself is an effect of something else.

So, if action is an effect and you take action to create an effect, that means you are trying to change an effect by changing an effect.

Now, that doesn’t make sense, does it?

And this is why you have been struggling, frustrated and burning out. You’ve been working in a completely counterintuitive way.

You can’t change an effect by changing an effect.

So, if action is not the cause of the results you want, does that mean you stop taking action?

No, but it means you need to understand what the cause is.

Why Reality Isn’t What You Think It Is

This might be another hard pill to swallow, but what you can reality is an illusion.

In Indian philosophy, particularly Advaita Vedanta, the physical plane is referred to as the “world of Maya”, which means the ‘illusion of the phenomenal world.

Reality being called an illusion doesn’t mean it’s fake, but it means there’s more than what meets the eye.

From a scientific perspective, you only see 0.0035% of reality.

The human eye can only see visible light, which is a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum. This means that your eyes cannot see the 0.9965% that makes up reality.

Again, you’re not seeing the full picture because there is more than what meets the eye.

Finally, from a quantum physics perspective, in Schrödinger's cat (a famous thought experiment), it’s been shown that subatomic particles have been recorded to react to the influence of something else. Something that is not a particle and thus not of the physical plane.

Because again, the physical plane is only one of three planes of existence and the lowest plane of the three.

The plane where energy lowers itself to become matter. Physical. Tangible.

Action is physical because it comes from the body.

But you don’t blindly take action, do you?

There is usually something that precedes your action.

Something like… a thought?

You Operate on 3 Levels of Existence

  1. Physical – Your body, your actions, your environment.

  2. Mental – Your thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and imagination.

  3. Spiritual – Your highest self, your consciousness, your connection to the infinite.

Most have been so focused on action, so they are stuck on the physical plane.

They are stuck operating at 33% of their potential.

But you know that you operate at three planes of existence, and these three planes are interconnected.

And when you only focus on one, you lose out on 67% of your potential.

But what if you could start tapping into that 67%?

Could you then change your reality?

The Mental Plane: The Realm of Cause

If the physical plane is accessed, experienced and influenced by your body, senses and actions,

then the mental plane is accessed, experienced and influenced by your mind and everything related to the mind.

Every single thing that exists in physical reality began in someone’s mind:

  • Businesses were first ideas.

  • Products were once thoughts.

  • The chair you’re sitting on was once just a design in someone’s imagination.

Even your actions are preceded by thoughts that come from the mind.

If you’re hungry, you don’t just get up to make food.

You think, “I’m hungry. I should make something to eat”, and then you get up to make something to eat.

If you’re tired, you don’t just close your eyes and sleep or get some kind of energy supplement.

You think, “I’m tired”, and then you take action to alleviate the tiredness, either through sleeping or taking an energy supplement.

Even the actions you take unconsciously have thoughts preceding them, but because you’ve thought it so many times, the thought is unconscious to your awareness and happens automatically.

These are your habits.

And where do your habits reside?

In your subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is where your reality is created from. The subconscious mind is the point of creation.

Because whatever habits and beliefs you have come from the subconscious mind, whatever is in the subconscious mind is what your reality will be.

So if you are experiencing a reality you don’t like, you need to look at what is in your subconscious mind.

Do you have the thought of your desired reality impressed into your subconscious mind? Because if it’s not in the subconscious mind, it won’t be expressed in reality.

This is why you programme the subconscious mind with the idea of your desired reality, and so it can be turned into thoughts which lead to actions that lead to the results that make up your reality.

Cause → Effect.

The physical plane is the realm of effect, and the mental plane is the realm of cause.

The subconscious mind is the womb of reality, and it’s always creating.

But what powers the subconscious mind with so much energy to always be creating?

The Spiritual Plane: The Source of Limitless Energy

Now we go deeper.

The spiritual plane is where infinite energy and power exist and come from.

In Hermatic philosophy, the spiritual plane is known as the “All”, which refers to the ultimate, encompassing reality or principle from which everything arises and to which everything returns.

It is the plane that connects all of reality to God or the Infinite or the realm of oneness.

There are no limits in the spiritual plane, and because there are no limits, everything and anything exists.

It is where the highest level of consciousness and where “you” exist beyond the mind and the body. It is where you are connected to the highest level of consciousness and exist as pure awareness.

The spiritual plane is where infinite potential lives.

It’s where you go in deep meditation… in dreams… in those moments of complete presence when you feel truly alive.

And it’s from this space that your mental energy is fuelled—and your physical actions are powered.

When you begin from spirit, you remember that you are a creator of it.

Here’s The Mistake You’ve Been Making

You’ve been struggling to create your desired reality because you’ve only been using one plane of existence.

Whether it’s through:

  • Taking massive action (physical).

  • Thinking positive thoughts (mental).

  • Praying and hoping (spiritual).

Using only one of these planes is using only 33.33% of your potential.

This is why if you’ve just been taking action, nothing has happened yet.

Action is not enough because it’s only 33.33% of your potential.

Action is like having a car but no battery or fuel.

You have the vehicle, but nothing that powers it, so you can get from point A to point B.

To create your dream life, you need to learn how to align and operate across all three planes.

That’s when you stop chasing results… and results start being attracted to you.

That’s when things start to feel effortless.

How To Create From All Three Planes

The universe loves order, and it operates in perfect, harmonious order.

A Divine order.

When you go against this order, you are out of alignment. And when you are out of alignment with the universe, you suffer and struggle.

To align yourself across all three planes, follow this order:

Spiritual → Mental → Physical

Let’s break it down step-by-step:

Step 1: The Spiritual Plane

Start by internalising a new idea:

You are an expression of God made physical. You are a spirit having a physical experience (not the other way around).

Be aware of the “you” that exists beyond the physical and mental planes. The you that exists as pure consciousness that is connected to the highest level of consciousness.

Remember that you, as the highest consciousness, are the creator of reality. And thus the reality you see bends to you. You are connected to the energy that connects everything and anything and you can access that energy any time.

Know this to be true.

Step 2: The Mental Plane

Create a vision for the reality you want. Make it clear and vivid.

Hold this vision strong and long in your mind until it is impressed on the subconscious mind.

Once impressed on the subconscious mind, you begin to think from the vision. This is also known as thinking from the end, as popularised by Neville Goddard.

You visualise your desire as already done.

You feel it as if it’s real.

And because the subconscious mind is always creating, this vision is becoming real in the physical realm.

Whatever is held in the subconscious mind must be expressed in the physical plane.

Step 3: The Physical Plane

With the spiritual and mental plane aligned, you have 66.67% of your potential accessed. Now the final 33%: taking action.

Now—and only now at 100%—do you take action.

But this time, your action is aligned.

No more overthinking.

No more forcing.

No more burnout.

When the spiritual and mental planes are aligned, action becomes natural and inevitable.

If you desire to get into better shape, going to the gym feels natural and like something you do because it’s who you are.

You see yourself as someone who goes to the gym.

If your desire is to build a business and achieve financial freedom, taking the actions to grow your business flow with ease because there is no block or resistance.

You’re not “trying” to work out or “forcing” yourself to send that email.

You’re just doing what aligns with who you already are.

If your dream life still feels out of reach…

It’s not because you’re lazy.

It’s because you’ve been operating on only 33% of your power.

When you align across all three planes of existence, that’s when you shift into the reality you want effortlessly.

Thanks for reading.

I hope you enjoyed it.

Until the next one.
