The $100M Routine: 4 Game-Changing Habits You Can Copy From Alex Hormozi
Unlock your potential by applying the same habits Hormozi uses daily.
Whether you are starting out and want to hit your first $10k per month.
Or you want to scale to $100M, study those who’ve done it and do what they did.
As the saying goes, “Success leaves clues.”
And if there’s one entrepreneur worth studying it’s Alex Hormozi.
Very few people are able to grow a business to his level, and even fewer share how they did it.
Fortunately for entrepreneurs like you and me, Alex Hormozi is documenting and sharing his lessons and journey on YouTube for us to watch, follow, and learn from.
After watching and studying Alex’s YouTube videos, I’ve identified 4 habits that contribute to his wealth and success.
These are habits that anyone can replicate and apply to their own lives.
They are simple and still done by Alex today in his life.
They help you not only achieve success but also maintain that success and achieve higher goals.
So let’s explore the 4 habits that make Alex Hormozi successful and how you can use them too.
It’s never been easier to be an entrepreneur than it is today, because of the internet.
Before you had to have insane amounts of capital, a physical location and hire a huge team, now you can start for $0, build online and automate most, if not all, of your business and run it yourself.
But on the flip side, it’s never been harder.
Many entrepreneurs (or wanna-be-entrepreneurs as Hormozi calls them) chase shiny objects, fall into information overload and juggle too many things at once.
And this is why I appreciate entrepreneurs like Alex Hormozi.
They are using the internet to document and share their lessons FOR FREE with social media platforms like YouTube.
You don’t have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for him to be your mentor.
If you can sit, watch his videos and apply what he shares, you can create your own success.
What we don’t realise is that success isn’t about complexity or having 100’s of strategies — it’s about discipline, resilience and consistency.
“Masters never don’t do the basics.”
Though Hormozi is an absolute weapon when it comes to work ethic, I think a lot of his success comes down to the few simple habits that he mastered, giving him an edge.
These habits allowed him to:
Stay focused while others get distracted.
Make high-quality decisions without draining his willpower.
Consistently outwork the competition by managing his energy and time better.
So let’s explore how he did it—and how you can apply the same 4 habits in your life.
Habit #1: Block off uninterrupted time for focus work
Alex’s secret to getting more done wasn’t multitasking—it was deep, uninterrupted work.
When he was writing his books: $100M Offers: How To Make Offers So Good People Feel Stupid Saying No and $100M Leads: How to Get Strangers To Want To Buy Your Stuff, he consistently woke up at 4 AM and didn’t take meetings until 10 AM, giving him a solid 6 hours of uninterrupted focus every morning.
Imagine how much you could accomplish if you dedicated just 3-4 hours of deep work to your most important tasks each day.
Block off 3-4 hours of uninterrupted time for deep work. No distractions, no multitasking. If you don’t have 3-4 hours to block off, start with 1 hour.
Schedule this time in your calendar and treat it like an important meeting you can’t miss.
You can use a tool like Pomofocus.io for 50-minute work intervals, and listen to focus-enhancing music like Brain.fm or lo-fi music to stay in the zone (a personal favourite).
“A focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted genius.”
Consistency is key here.
Even if you can only block off 1 hour a day, doing it consistently will compound over time.
Think about how much more productive you’d be if you dedicated 2 to 3 hours of deep work every day without interruptions.
Over a week, that’s 14-21 hours of pure focus. That kind of focus can drive insane results.
Habit #2: Plan your next day the night before
Hormozi believes that a clear mind leads to better sleep, and better sleep leads to higher-quality decisions.
He ends each day by writing down the 1-3 key tasks he’ll focus on the next day.
This simple habit allows him to wake up and immediately get to work without wasting mental energy deciding what to do first.
Planning the night before isn’t just about productivity—it’s about clarity.
When you’re clear on what needs to be done, you eliminate the morning chaos. You wake up with direction, ready to execute.
Each evening about your workday or before bed, write down the top 1-3 tasks you’ll work on the next day.
You can use a physical journal, a Notion page, or a simple to-do list app. The goal is to wake up with clarity on what you need to do.
Add these to your calendar. Time block your key tasks in your calendar so you know exactly when you’ll work on them.
You might think 1 - 3 priority tasks are too little. Don’t overcomplicate this.
Doing 1 - 3 high-leverage tasks leads to greater results than doing 5 - 10 tasks subpar.
If these 1 -3 tasks are all you can do in a day, your day is a win. This habit alone can 10x your output.
Habit #3: Reduce decision-making
Decision fatigue is real. Every decision you make—no matter how small—uses up mental energy.
Mental energy as an entrepreneur is your most valuable resource. Protect it.
Hormozi reduces unnecessary decisions by:
Eating the same few meals.
Wearing the same simple outfit daily.
Keeping his workspace minimal and free of distractions.
Time-blocking his calendar so he doesn’t have to decide what to work on—it’s already planned.
The result?
He frees up mental bandwidth to focus on more important, high-leverage tasks.
If you’re constantly making decisions throughout the day— "What should I eat? What should I work on next? Should I clean up now or later?”—you’re burning valuable energy that could be used for deep work.
Identify areas in your life where you can reduce decisions.
Tools you can use to simplify this:
Checklists and to-do lists – Reduce thinking; just follow the list.
Zapier – Automate repetitive tasks by connecting your apps.
Meal planning and prep – Eliminate the decision of what to cook or eat. If you can afford it, make use of delivery services. This helps because you spend less time on cooking.
Every decision you eliminate adds a bit more fuel to your energy tank. The more strategic you can be with your energy, the more you can allocate it to the right places and get more done.
Habit #4: Go to bed early
While hustle culture glorifies late nights and burning the midnight oil, Hormozi prefers a different approach.
He goes to bed early and wakes up when he feels rested.
This ensures he gets enough high-quality sleep, which is critical for making better decisions and staying productive.
He mentions that all the wealthy people he knows prioritise sleep because they understand its impact on performance.
Getting good sleep shouldn’t be a luxury—but a standard. You can’t perform at a high level if you’re constantly sleep-deprived.
Set a bedtime and create an evening routine to wind down before bed (e.g., no screens 1 hour before sleep, reading before bed, stretching, drinking tea, etc.).
You can track your sleep quality using apps like Oura Ring or Sleep Cycle to ensure you’re getting deep, restorative sleep.
If you can improve the quality of your sleep by 10%, you’ll make better decisions, have more energy, and reduce the risk of burnout. Over time, this can compound into a massive advantage.
The Gameplan
Now that you know the 4 key habits, here’s how you can start applying them today:
Set a Deep Work Block: Choose a 1-4 hour block where you’ll work without interruptions. Use tools like Pomodoro timers or Brain.fm to stay focused.
Plan Tomorrow Tonight: In the evening, write down the 1-3 key tasks you’ll tackle the next day.
Eliminate Decisions: Automate repetitive tasks and design your environment for fewer distractions.
Prioritise Sleep: Set a bedtime routine and stick to it for better energy and decision-making.
Closing Thoughts
It’s easy to overlook these 4 habits because they are simple.
But don’t underestimate their power.
It’s simple habits like these done consistently that separate high performers from everyone else.
It’s what gives entrepreneurs like Hormozi an edge.
If you master these habits, you’ll not only become more productive—you’ll become a beast in both business and life.
That’s it.
I hope you enjoyed this newsletter and I’ll see you in the next one.
Happy 2025!
